Anatoli Zebenko, born on 25.4.1944 in Hamburg, died on 27.11.1944
Essener Straße 54 (Formerly Camp Tannenkoppel, Weg 4, also known as "Tarpenbek" Forced labor camp of the armaments industry in Hamburg Langenhorn)
Anatoli Zebenko was born in Hamburg on April 25, 1944. His mother Olga Zebenko, born on May 17, 1919 in Voplunoucka, was a farmer, unmarried and presumably of the Russian Orthodox faith, registered as „Orthodox". Deported from her native Russia, she had to perform forced labor for Hanseatische Kettenwerk GmbH (HAK) and Deutsche Meßapparate GmbH (Messap) in Hamburg-Langenhorn and was housed in the "Ostarbeiterlager Tannenkoppel", Weg Nr. 4.
On the day her child was born, Olga Zebenko was admitted to Alsterdorf Hospital. Nine days after giving birth, on May 5, 1944, she returned to the Tannenkoppel camp with her son Anatoli. Anatoli had to spend the short time of his life there. The food and living conditions were completely inadequate for him.
On November 3, 1944, he was admitted to the Langenhorn General Hospital with the diagnosis "nutritional disorders". Anatoli died on November 27, 1944 at 12:30 p.m. - after a three-week stay at Langenhorn General Hospital.
The hospital's death notice states "pedatrophy" (emaciation - the most severe degree of nutritional disorder) as the cause of death and Blumenthal as the signing doctor.
Anatoli was 7 months and 2 days old.
Eleven days after his death, his burial took place on December 8, 1944 at the Ohlsdorf cemetery, grave location: Q 39, row 12, no. 15. Anatoli's grave is no longer preserved. At the end of 1959, it was leveled together with at least 146 graves of the children of forced laborers in area Q 39.
During his stay in hospital, his mother was transferred to the Finksweg camp in Hamburg-Finkenwärder on November 13, 1944, for forced labor for Deutsche Werft AG, Oellager. When he was buried, she was in Hamburg-Finkenwärder in the "Ostarbeiterlager Rüschkanal", also a forced labor camp of Deutsche Werft AG.
