Report Damage

Stolpersteine are exposed to the elements as well as to the everyday wear and tear of urban life. Over time, they may become damaged, come loose or become so worn that the inscription is barely legible.

If you notice a damaged Stolperstein, you can help ensure that it is repaired. Please provide as much detail as possible about the stone’s location and the nature of the damage. A photo will help us assess the situation.

We appreciate reports of:

• damaged or loose Stolpersteine

• inscriptions that are no longer legible

• missing or removed Stolpersteine

• damage to the area surrounding a Stolperstein

We will look into the matter and make sure the necessary steps are taken. In most cases, Stolpersteine have been temporarily removed due to construction work.
