Manfred Olschewitz, born 21 Mar. 1908 in Langfuhr near Danzig, deported 8 Nov. 1941 to Minsk where he was killed
Brunhilde Olschewitz, née Henner, born 13 May 1912 in Berlin, deported 8 Nov. 1941 to Minsk where she was killed

Manfred Olschewitz, son of Alfred Olschewitz and his wife Lina, née Freymann, and Brunhilde, née Henner, were married on 29 Jan. 1933. The couple remained childless.

During the years 1937 and 1938, the Berlin address book contained an entry for "Manfred Olschewitz, tradesman, ... Gollnowstr. 44". At the same address in the district Friedrichshain an "Adolf Olschewitz, tradesman" was also registered. The couple lived in Berlin until the end of 1938, then moved to Hamburg.

The Hamburg Jewish Community noted on Manfred Olschewitz’s tax card: "1940 no assets. Heavy laborer". That permits us to conclude that he was made to do forced labor, and due to that work he was entitled to larger food rations than Jews were otherwise allowed at the time. He paid one to three Marks into the Community fund each month. On the deportation list of 8 Nov. 1941, he was identified as a merchant and his wife as a laborer.

In Hamburg the Olschewitzs initially lived in a sublet on Rothenbaumchaussee. They were forced to leave their home in 1940. They were assigned a room in the house at Agnesstraße 39 which belonged to Charlotte Rosenbacher (see her entry). From there they followed their deportation orders to Minsk.
